There is also the problem of dignity and discrimination -- as in, dogs have none.

Where's the discrimination in an animal so mindlessly arduous that its overpowering instinct upon seeing someone is to hump his or her leg?

But both of these very domesticated animals were not always so tame.

Dogs are descended from wolves and cats find their ancestry in wild cat species.

No matter what side is taken there will always be a debate about which animal is superior.

In the age-old schism of cats versus dogs, there has always been a debate for both sides.

New evidence, however, supports the idea that humans began domesticating dogs tens of thousands of years before that.

This evidence comes in the form of a bone found on the Taimyr Peninsula in Siberia.

The bone was from an ancient wolf and was over thirty-five thousand years old.

Reports read, “Examining the animal’s mitochondrial and nuclear DNA and comparing them to genomes of modern wolves and dogs, the team surmised that there must have been a three-way split among the Taimyr, dog, and wolf lineages.” (Feddenden).
